Swedish Gambling Authority
The Swedish Gambling Authority is the governing body which oversees all the gambling activities within the Kingdom of Sweden. It came on the scene in 2018, and since then it managed to establish a player-first policy, and firm views on responsible and transparent gaming. The online betting scene in Sweden has been active since 2019, but in that short time, it turned into a well-respected and strict gaming authority. The SGA is known for its strict regulations and anti-crime stance.

The Swedish Gaming Authority, as responsible for all gambling in Sweden, issues 6 different licenses:
- Commercial Online Games
- Betting
- Land-Based Commercial Games
- Games on Ships in International Traffic
- State Reserved Games
- Public Purposes Games
Furthermore, all operators with a license pay 18% tax from profits acquired on any gambling in Sweden. The only exception is gambling for non-profit purposes. Additionally, if a player wins money from an operator without a license, the player still has to pay tax on the profit. The license is valid for 5 years, with the Swedish Gaming Authority giving you the list of games which the license covers.
The license fee for both betting and casino operators is 400.000 Swedish KR while obtaining the two at the same time will cost you 700.000 Swedish KR. Any further update or alteration of all three licenses will cost 300.000 and 150.000, respectively.
