Danish Gambling Authority
The Danish Gambling Authority is the main regulatory body which oversees and is responsible for all the gambling activity in the territory of Denmark. With its creation on the 1st of December 2012, it became the highest and only authority when it comes to protecting the player’s rights and fighting crime in the gambling industry in Denmark. Originally founded in 2000 as part of the Danish Ministry of Taxation, with the sole goal of controlling gaming machines all over Denmark. Due to the Act of Gambling, in 2012 the DGA has become the sole authority capable of providing licenses. Consequently, as of January 1st, 2013, the Danish Gaming Authority has become an independent governing body, with its own director.
